DUT

What is this?

The DUT (Driving Urban Transitions to a sustainable future) Partnership steps up the game to tackle urban challenges. Through research and innovation and capacity building, DUT enables local authorities and municipalities, service and infrastructure providers, and citizens to translate global strategies into local action.

DUT is a European Partnership within Horizon Europe, which is the EU's key funding programme for research and innovation.  It brings the European Commission and private and/or public partners together to address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges through concerted research and innovation initiatives. By bringing private and public partners together, European Partnerships help to avoid the duplication of investments and contribute to reducing the fragmentation of the research and innovation landscape in the EU.

What is its status?

VLAIO is participating in the annual call of this partnership. The purpose of this annual Call is to support transnational research and/or innovation projects addressing urban challenges to help cities in their transition towards a more sustainable economy and functioning. The challenges are grouped into three themes called Transition Pathways: Positive Energy Districts (PED), the 15-Minute City (15mC) and Circular Urban Economies (CUE).
