Through a research project, Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) provides grants (subsidies) to companies to expand or enhance their research and development capacities. 

Specifically, the VLAIO agency provides grants for the realisation of individual projects by one or more companies. The project is based on an innovative idea that requires new knowledge and research and, in some cases, new development activities.
