RAMP - Raw Materials Partnership for the Green and Digital Transition
What?
RAMP (The Raw Materials Partnership for the Green and Digital Transition) is an EU co-funded European Partnership under Horizon Europe for enabling transnational research and innovation funding across the raw materials value chain.
The partnership was established as the successor to and expansion of ERA-MIN, ERA-MIN2 and ERA-MIN3, and directly supports the objectives of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA).
Purpose
RAMP aims to strengthen the coordination and alignment of national and regional R&I programmes in order to:
- enhance the security and sustainability of Europe’s raw materials supply;
- contribute to the green and digital transition;
- address the entire value chain, including exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and circularity.
RAMP is guided by a Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and follows a quadruple helix approach involving industry, academia, government and society.
Its thematic focus includes:
- sustainable extraction and processing;
- recycling and circularity;
- efficient use of materials;
- innovation and social acceptance.
Target Group
Flemish companies (both SMEs and large enterprises) wishing to carry out an ambitious and high-risk R&D project together with foreign companies and/or research organisations may submit a project proposal.
Specific eligibility criteria and funding conditions apply in each participating country or region. Applicants are therefore strongly encouraged to contact the relevant funding agencies in all countries or regions where funding will be requested before submitting a proposal.
Consortium
RAMP brings together 54 partner organisations from 30 countries: Belgium–Flanders, Belgium–Wallonia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye, Sweden, South Africa and Switzerland.
Status
RAMP has a duration of 11 years, starting in 2026 and running until approximately 2037. Over the lifetime of the partnership, seven joint transnational calls will be launched, focusing on projects at TRL 1–6.
