An innovation mandate is a project assigned to a ‘consortium’ involving a Flemish company, a Flemish knowledge institution and a postdoctoral researcher.

Companies and organisations who wish to apply for the feasibility study subsidy must meet certain criteria.

The application form must be submitted by the postdoctoral researcher. Subsequently, VLAIO will assess this application

Both SMEs and LEs as well as cooperating enterprises can be eligible for this subsidy, depending on the costs of the qualifying investments.

The basic support amounts to 25% of all costs. This percentage can be supplemented with additional premiums.

The payment of the subsidy for innovative starters occurs in two 50% instalments: one instalment at the start and one at the end of the project.

Each enterprise must submit an application, which Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship will subsequently assess on eligibility.

The payment of the R&D feasibility study subsidy occurs in two instalments. The timing of these payments will be agreed upon in the support agreement.
