Challenge

The project at AZ Sint-Jan Brugge AV aims to optimise the distribution of medicines within the hospital. The project seeks an affordable, straightforward solution that provides maximum automation across all wards for all types of medication. This requires medication to be available in a dynamic stock on every ward. The preparation of medication for patients must be supported by picking equipment.

The ultimate goal is to be able to administer the correct medication, at the right time, to the right patient, in the correct quantities, for all prescriptions. This must be done in as automated a manner as possible so that pharmacy and healthcare staff can focus on the more complex tasks within the organisation. This initiative forms part of the construction of a new logistics centre with a pharmacy, planned by AZ Sint-Jan Brugge for 2027.
