Uitdaging
This project aims to develop a renewed concession model that combines charging infrastructure with electric shared cars. The core idea is to use part of the revenue generated from operating (bi-directional) charging stations to financially support electric shared vehicles, thereby creating added value for local authorities.
A financial overview will be developed that looks at two key revenue streams: income from charging activities and the income that can be generated by the batteries of idle shared cars through vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology at bi-directional charging points. By combining these revenue sources, a financial model will show how many shared cars can be sustainably funded.
At the same time, the project will examine the legal, technical, and organizational conditions required for this integrated model, ensuring that the concept can be implemented in practice and scaled up effectively. The approach also focuses on building broad public-sector support and actively involving market players, so that the model is not only innovative but also applicable across different local contexts.
The result is a forward-looking and socially relevant model that contributes to sustainable mobility while delivering tangible value for local communities.
