Amount for the research part

The project budget for the research part amounts to a maximum of € 500,000 per year per research partner, provided that the total partial budget for all research partners together represents at least 15% of the total project budget.

The accepted project budget for the research part is funded at 100%.

Amount for the enterprise part

The accepted project budget for the business part is supported at a subsidy rate between 25% and 60%, depending on the nature of the activities.

• A basal subsidy rate of 50% for industrial research.
• A basal subsidy rate of 25% for experimental development.
• A company type surcharge: 20% for small businesses and 10% for medium businesses.
• A 10% collaboration surcharge for effective collaboration in the business part if at least one SME participates and none of the companies accounts for more than 70% of the budget.

The support for the business part is at least € 100,000 and no more than € 3 million.

Amount at project level

At project level, a balance, known as the ICON balance, must be maintained between the budget for the research part (at least 30%) and the budget for the business part (at least 50%).
