The market consultation confirmed that the availability of a sufficiently comprehensive dataset for the Belgian context is crucial as a starting point for the development of a TOTEM Infrastructure. It became clear from one-to-one discussions with various market players that the Department of Mobility and Public Works must first gain insights into data and methodology before work can begin on developing the software. Consequently, the development of new software to carry out environmental impact calculations in a user-friendly manner is not yet a priority at this stage.

In order to produce a usable tool, various open questions and technical uncertainties must first be investigated. For example, it must be determined which basic components should be included in a generic library, which levels of detail are appropriate within SB250, and how international and national LCA data sources can be combined and adapted to the Belgian context.
