Preparation

Together with Flanders Hydraulics Research (FHR) and under the guidance of the consultancy company Addestino, the need of the contracting authority was sharpened in the spring of 2020. Several work sessions were organised to estimate the desired functionalities and the innovation potential for the wave flume including the wavemaker from a user perspective.

An open market consultation with potential suppliers was organized on 4 March 2020. During this event, various use cases, specifications and expected results were discussed with the participants with the aim of determining whether the project specifications correspond to the current state-of-the-art in the field of wave flumes and wavemakers.
