Preparation

To focus on the challenge, a preparatory trajectory was launched in February 2022 under the guidance of Rebel Ports & Logistics BE bv, with the support of MULTI nv. This preparatory trajectory also includes a survey of the market. The results are available in the final report. This report is in Dutch, but also contains an English summary. The results of the preparatory trajectory will form the basis of the innovative public procurement, which is expected to be launched in late 2022 or early 2023.

The research conducted by Rebel Ports & Logistics BE led to a follow-up assignment for TNO to map out the sailing profiles of the two vessels under investigation. This provided insight into the actual capacity required by the two vessels, which has a significant impact on the price and environmental impact of the solution.
The results of this preparatory process formed the basis for the innovative government contract for the retrofit of the vessel Den Engel.
