Preparation
During the prepatory track, in collaboration with Addestino, work was done to develop an integrated methodology that would enable dangerous points in the road network to be identified, prioritized, and monitored more quickly and proactively. The preliminary phase ran from April to November 2025 and consisted of several stages:
- Inventory of use cases: Workshops and brainstorming sessions were used to identify and prioritize the functional needs and use cases of the future tool.
- State-of-the-art analysis: Interviews with international experts and an analysis of existing methods and models formed the basis for the reference architecture. Both reactive and proactive models were examined, with a focus on the integration of infrastructure data, traffic volumes, and accident data.
- Steering group and validation: A steering group with representatives from AWV and DMOW was brought together to assess the proposed methodology and provide guidance for the further process.
- Market consultation: An online workshop with market players from the sector served to test the technical feasibility and innovation potential of the proposed solutions. The feedback from this session was incorporated into the final recommendation.
The main conclusions were compiled in a final report and form the basis for a future public tender. Curious about the conclusions from the preliminary phase? Be sure to read the final report via the link below.
