Preparation

In order to sharpen the challenge regarding circular trench silos, a preparatory process was started in early 2020 in cooperation with the consultancy firm Verhaert. In a first phase, several working sessions were organised with internal experts to assess the desired functionalities and innovation potential for circular trench silos from a user's point of view.

A market consultation was organised on 11 March 2020, bringing together supply and demand sides. In consultation with companies and research groups, new insights were reached regarding sustainable and circular concrete (including alternative binders).
