Uitdaging
By 2050, all homes must be energy efficient and emission-free. Accelerating the rate of renovation – which is currently stagnating at around 0.7% per year – is therefore one of the biggest challenges. Although the technical solutions (insulation, high-efficiency glass, efficient installations) are well known and available, the key question remains: how do we ensure that all citizens can participate in this transition? With a socially fair renovation policy, Klimaatbedrijf Blankenberge wants to guarantee that even families without financial means can make their homes future-proof.
Through the pilot project “Wijkrenovatie Groenestraat” (Groenestraat urban renovation), Klimaatbedrijf Blankenberge aims to create an energy-positive residential area by taking care of everything for residents in terms of energy renovation: from energy audits and construction to pre-financing.
