Muntpunt carried out a thorough preliminary study to identify in detail the needs of users, administrators and other stakeholders.

This concluded that a 'real-time' and 'presence-based' solution was needed. These are not yet available on the market. It was decided to have a Proof of Concept (or prototype) developed for a limited number of study sites. When this version can be validated with end users, the system will be rolled out across the library.
