Subsidies voor O&O&I in een internationaal consortium

Terug naar Networks

ITEA is an industry-driven European ecosystem for collaborative R & D projects within the broad theme of software-intensive systems. A European project call is organised every year (in 2 phases). The best projects receive a Eureka! Label, with which the project partners can apply for innovation support in their own country. In Flanders this is via a development or research project at VLAIO. VLAIO can also introduce you to the ecosystem, and offer support in the PO and FPP phase where necessary.

ITEA (in full: Information Technology for European Advancement) is formally a Eureka! Cluster. The organisation focuses on supporting and stimulating competence in the development of software-intensive systems. Twenty years ago, ITEA originated from within a number of leading companies (including Barco) for which software technology is a core competence for the development of new products. The current network, ITEA3 is the successor of ITEA and ITEA2.

ITEA organises an annual call for projects. In doing so, you are first asked to submit Project Outlines (PO, a rather concise description). Those who submitted the selected POs are then asked to submit a Full Project Proposal (FPP). The best projects receive a Eureka! Label. Information on this programme, the European provisions for submitting projects and the timing of the calls is available on the ITEA3 website.

The Flemish project proposals are submitted through the funding channels development project or research project. We expect that the contributions of all involved Flemish partners will be combined in one application. Note that unlike non-ITEA projects, there is no continuous open call here, but there is a deadline for submission within the Agency. This is communicated to the Flemish project partners after the labelling of the FPPs.

The Flemish sub-project is eligible for extra support for cooperation if:

  • the project obtains the ITEA label;
  • the partners have submitted a signed international Consortium Agreement;
  • at least two Member States of the European Union participate in the project;
  • none of the companies has to account for more than 70% of the eligible costs of the cooperation project.
